I learned that some thoughts are just thoughts. Although they may be scary, they won't hurt me.

You don’t have to face it alone
Imagine being a young person struggling with depression and frightening thoughts that feel impossible to manage on your own. Unsure of what is happening and overwhelmed by emotions you’ve never experienced before, it’s easy to feel alone. Lumenus is here to help.
Recently, we supported a youth facing this exact situation. During the summer of 2023, their mental health declined, leaving them with thoughts and feelings they did not know how to cope with. After reaching out to their mother, they were connected to mental health supports and received the care they needed.
Through therapy and ongoing counselling, they learned practical coping skills and gained a new understanding of their mental health. Most importantly, they discovered they did not have to face their challenges alone. With support from their family and continued guidance from their therapist, they built the confidence and resilience to move forward.
“I learned that some thoughts are just thoughts. Although they may be scary, they won’t hurt me. I learned that we should get help when needed and how we can use the skills we learn in any situation.”
That’s one story. Last year, we helped 11,000 people, each with different stories and needs.
With expertise across autism, mental health, developmental, crisis, and family services, we help people navigate life’s most difficult moments and support them through change. Lumenus helps people find their way forward.
Here, care feels the way it should. Human. Thoughtful. Connected.
And the future feels brighter with every step.
