Children’s Autism Care Fund

Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families turn to Lumenus for timely, ongoing support that helps make everyday life more manageable, meaningful, and fulfilling.

ASD can affect how a child communicates, learns, processes information, and connects with others. Without appropriate support, children may face increased learning, social, and behavioural challenges that impact their development and well-being.

Programs such as speech-language therapy and motor-skills support help children build skills, confidence, and greater independence at home, at school, and in their communities. Yet many families face barriers to accessing care, including long wait times, limited program availability, and financial constraints.

Through philanthropic investment, Lumenus works to remove these barriers by expanding capacity, developing responsive programs, and improving affordability. The support of generous donors helps families access care sooner and gives children more opportunities to thrive.

In 2026, this fund supported the Getting Ready for School Camp, a two-week pilot offered at no cost to four families whose children had completed Lumenus’ Entry to School program. The camp helped children refresh skills such as listening, sharing, and emotional regulation while easing the transition back to school. Lumenus is committed to funding this pilot at no cost to families, delivering a proven service in a new, innovative, and financially accessible way.
